The Brief: How We Helped a Fictional Tennis Club Come to Life

The Rochambeau Club is a lifestyle brand with a rather unique concept. They’re built upon the imaginative idea of a fictional French tennis club and membership to market and sell a variety of products, including wines, clothing, caps, and merch.From the moment they approached us, we knew this project was going to be a match made in creative heaven.Their distinct style required understanding, creativity, and a particular taste that aligned perfectly with our own.

The Problem: a Unique Imaginary World to Create

The problem was, their tongue-in-cheek, retro, classic summer vibe and Wes Anderson influence called for a lot of design brainpower and exploration. Our style and personal creativity lent itself to the brand, so we knew we were going to be able to fully unfold some great design work. ​​The challenge was crystal clear – The Rochambeau Club needed a comprehensive array of brand assets to bring their imaginative concept to life. This encompassed everything from development of their logo suite capturing the essence of their fictional French tennis club to designing distinctive labels for their new wines and clothing. They also needed captivating mockups that showcased their tennis club aesthetic, their wines, merchandise in all their quirky glory. And of course, a brand with such a playful and whimsical approach required equally captivating social media content. Their socials needed to exude the same charm that sets them apart, and really establish their personality.

The Process:

We knew we had to dive deep into their world to truly capture the essence of their imaginative concept. We took the time to fully immerse ourselves in their brand, studying their existing assets, exploring their website and social media, and understanding their unique vision.

Clothing Design & Mockups:



We developed and visualised clothing designs that embodied the spirit of The Rochambeau Club. We created mockups that showcased their clothing line in all its quirky glory and developed print files ready for production. Seeing their ideas come to life through these visual representations was an exciting moment!

Social media content:

Developing their social media content – a crucial aspect of any modern brand. We wanted their online presence to reflect the same whimsical charm that defined their brand. To achieve this, we delved deep into their brand identity and carefully looked at their target audience. We wanted every graphic to resonate with existing followers and attract new members, sparking excitement about The Rochambeau Club's captivating world.This including creating fictional advertisements, menus, events and promotional graphics.

As we ventured further into the project, we took on the challenge of designing full labels for their wines, clothing items, and other products. It was an intricate process that required a perfect balance of creativity and meticulous attention to detail. We infused each label with elements that told their story, shaping their fictional French tennis club and inviting customers to become part of it.

Their social media followers increased, with their brand new captivating and playful content. The business has grown a lot in the past year – both word-of-mouth buzz and social media have contributed to their success. Social media has actually become a powerful tool for their expansion, allowing them to attract a much broader audience. They’re currently approaching the 10k followers mark! Working together on a long-term basis has been highly beneficial. Through a steady rotation organic conversation and planning as well as regular, spot-on designs, we’re advancing towards sustained brand growth.
